About the University Transportation Master Plan

building blocks graphicThe University Physical Master Plan, approved on June 18, 2015, outlines the physical growth of Rutgers over the next 15 to 20 years. Integral to that growth is how we move people within and among our campuses. To that end, the university has engaged a transportation planning firm to develop the Rutgers University Transportation Master Plan. This process will examine, in detail, the goals, recommendations, and projects specified in the University Physical Master Plan and generate a plan that addresses the current and long-term transportation needs on our Newark and New Brunswick campuses.

The goal of the University Transportation Master Plan is to create a transportation environment that enhances mobility alternatives—parking, transit, bicycling, and walking—for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
